»With her sound installation »You make me feel like a natural disaster «, Jessyca R. Hauser transforms the exhibition space into an emotional landscape in which the boundaries between interior and exterior space blur. In the haunting six-channel sound collage, which combines passages from the artist's texts with field recordings, soundscapes and quotations from sampled pop songs, one is both transported into the artist's world of thought and confronted with one's own associations and experiences. Central to the polyphonic composition is the motif of absence and the idea of embodied memory. By using this as a metaphor, Hauser succeeds in drawing a picture of the mood of a neoliberal media society torn between global networking and the feeling of alienation. « (Stephanie Damianitsch)

Jessyca R. Hauser
The media artist Jessyca R. Hauser, born in Vienna, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the Glasgow School of Art. Today she lives as a freelance artist in Berlin. R. Hauser works at the interface of performance, video, sound, text and installation, often collaboratively and collectively. As a performer, she can also be seen in film and on stages. Since 2020, she has been touring with Florentina Holzinger's »Tanz« and can be seen as a musician in »Schwarzwasser« at the Berliner Ensemble. She is currently working on her first musical solo project fontanel.
