Anya Fischer was born in 1975 and studied acting at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. From 2001 to 2006, she was a member of the company at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, where she worked with directors including Peter Kastenmüller, Alexander Lang, Rafael Sanchez, and Armin Petras. From there, she moved to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, where she performed in Holk Freytag’s production of “Faust I and II,” Niklaus Helbling’s Shakespeare production of “Twelfth Night,” and as the title character in “Antigone,” directed by Yael Ronen, among other roles. Since 2009, Anya Fischer has been working as a freelance actress and, until 2026, appeared as a regular guest in numerous productions at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. She is now also introducing herself to the Cologne audience in Kay Voges’ production IN BESTER LAGE.
