George Benjamin is one of the outstanding composers of the present day, who always explores the theatrical aspects of music in his work. This year he will receive the prestigious Ernst von Siemens Music Prize for his work. In honour of George Benjamin and under the direction of Christian Karlsen, the Gürzenich Orchestra will perform one of his most important ensemble works »Into the Little Hill« and works by his companions Oliver Knussen and Unsuk Chin in the concert VERY PERSONAL.
