Max Schweder


Max Schweder is a digital artist, creative technologist, musician, and performer. As an independent digital artist, he develops interactive media art and stage projects. His work includes the ARD production “Einklang,” the AI-based video design for “Die tote Stadt” at the Hanover State Opera, and the XR installation “Zeitreise des Kakaos” at the Chocolate Museum Cologne. For “RCE – #RemoteCodeExecution” at the Berliner Ensemble, he was part of the video team that received the “Video of the Year” award from Theater heute in 2024 and won the Faust Award in the Media category in 2025. At Schauspiel Köln, he has already worked on IMAGINE in the field of creative coding (AI). Together with Dr. Tobias Hartmann, he forms one half of Cylvester, a studio for interactive digital arts. Under the name Strange Attractor, he releases music. Schweder is an alumnus of the Academy for Theatre and Digitality Dortmund, the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), and the Media Founder Scholarship programme. He has also worked as a researcher at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp (Belgium).
