Clara Rosina Straßer is an Austrian costume designer specializing in theatre, opera, and film. After initial work in performance and experimental theatre, she developed an artistic collaboration with director Magdalena Schönfeld. Together, they recently created the set and costume designs for “Muttertier” and “Patient Zero” at Zimmertheater Tübingen. At the same time, she works continuously in interdisciplinary fields. With director and video artist Ayla Pierrot Arendt, she designed the costumes for the multimedia opera “Death in Peace”. The production premiered at Künstler:innenhaus Mousonturm and was also featured at the Donaufestival. Since 2018, she has worked regularly with director Romeo Castellucci. In this context, she has contributed to several international opera productions, including “Das Rheingold” and “Die Walküre” at Opera De Munt | La Monnaie in Brussels, “Lacrime di Eros” at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, and “Stabat Mater” at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
