Patricia Talacko, born in St. Gallen, studied textile design at the Kunstgewerbeschule Basel and scenography at DAMU in Prague. During her time as assistant set designer at Thalia Theater Hamburg, she was able to realize her first own works with directors Laurent Chétouane, Kai Ohrem, and Armin Petras. Since 2004, she has worked as a freelance set and costume designer at various renowned German-speaking theaters and in the Czech Republic, collaborating with directors including Armin Petras, Lucie Ferenzová, Maxim Didenko, and Katharina Schmitt. Talacko shares a long-standing collaboration with director Claudia Bauer. Her set design for “humanistää!” (Volkstheater Wien) was named Set Design of the Year 2022 in the critics’ poll of the trade magazine Theater heute. In addition, from 2009 to 2019 she was a member of the performance duo Puškin/Talacko, with performances and exhibition projects primarily in the Czech art scene.
