Güldeste Mamaç

In Güldeste Mamaç’s music, warmth, honesty, and depth meet Anatolian melancholy, Mediterranean influences, psychedelia, and electronics. Her earthy voice and violin cut through electropop and club sounds. Moving between progressive rock, Turkish folk music, and classical music, she studied violin, solfège, and chamber music in Detmold, Madrid, and İzmir. She travelled to Varanasi to study classical Indian music and spent extended periods journeying through India, Nepal, and Israel. Living nomadically—including a time without electricity in the desert—shaped her experiences and transformed her perspective on identity and art. She composes for dance, performance, sound installations, and visual art. Nominated by the Baden-Württemberg Arts Office for the Artists’ Encounter in Liechtenstein, she worked at the Nibelungen Festival alongside Nuran D. Calis. She has also collaborated with numerous directors and choreographers, including Nicki Liszta, Willy Praml, Giuseppina Tragni, and Guido Preuß. She performs as a violist with the Elfton Ensemble Basel and will release her second solo EP, “Yan Baba,” in Cologne in 2026.
