Having grown up in a family of actresses in Munich, Lavinia Nowak initially studied German language and literature, philosophy and foreign languages at LMU Munich, before going on to study acting at the August Everding Theatre Academy. During this time, she made guest appearances at venues including the Residenztheater and the Kammerspiele Munich. This was followed by an engagement at the Volkstheater in Vienna, where she worked with Claudia Bauer, Luk Perceval and Antonio Latella, amongst others. Lavinia Nowak was nominated for the Nestroy Prize for Best Actress in 2022 and 2025. In 2023, she appeared as Katarina Witt in the film ‘Kati’, directed by Mimi Kezele.
