Daniel Roskamp studied scenography at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Erich Wonder. Since 1994, he has worked freelance developing stage designs and installations for opera, drama, and dance theatre. From 2006 to 2021, he served as chief set designer and head of production at the Staatstheater Kassel. Collaborations with artists such as Laura Linnenbaum, Philipp Rosenadahl, Lily Sykes, Patrick Schlösser, F. P. Steckel, Gustav Rueb, and Schirin Khodadadian have taken him to renowned theatres across the German-speaking world and to the Göteborg Opera. He maintains an ongoing collaboration with director Kay Voges. Productions featuring Daniel Roskamp’s stage designs have been invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen, the Berliner Kinder- und Jugendtheatertreffen, the Mülheimer Theatertage, and the Heidelberger Stückemarkt. Additionally, Roskamp has received nominations for Set Designer of the Year from the specialist magazines Theater heute and Opernwelt.
