Belle Santos is an artist specializing in performance, installation, and costume design. She maintains regular collaborations with directors Ran Chai Bar-zvi, Tilman Hecker, Elsa Sophie Jach, Samara Hersch, as well as Leonie Böhm and Lucia Bihler, working at venues such as Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Schauspiel Hannover, Volkstheater Wien, Theater Bremen, and Volksbühne Berlin. From 2015 to 2022, she was part of the artistic leadership of the immersive performance group The Agency, whose works were invited to festivals including the emerging directors’ festival Radikal Jung and the Athens Biennale. In 2021, she was responsible for the costume design of “2038” at the German Pavilion of the Venice Biennale and for the feature film “Allegro Pastell”, which is set to premiere in German cinemas in 2026. She has been a fellow of the Goethe-Institut’s Villa Kamogawa in Kyoto, the Saison Foundation in Tokyo, and most recently received a six-month artist residency scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
