Katharina Pia Schütz studied stage design at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg and fine arts at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. Since 2015, she has been designing stage spaces for both musical and spoken theatre, including productions at Münchner Kammerspiele, Staatsoper Stuttgart, Theater Bremen, Theater Neumarkt Zürich, Schaubühne Berlin, Thalia Theater Hamburg, and Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. In addition to her theatre work, she creates scenographic spaces for film productions, show formats, and exhibition architecture. Beginning with the 2025|26 season, she will serve as resident scenographer at Theater Freiburg. She also teaches scenographic design at the Zurich University of the Arts.
