Justine Loddenkemper studied design with a focus on fashion at the University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld. She gained her first experience as a costume designer while still studying. After completing her thesis, which was awarded the Re:load Magazin Kreativwirtschaft OstwestfalenLippe Nachwuchspreis three times, she developed a long-standing collaboration with AlarmTheater e. V., an organization that particularly supports projects with young refugees. Following a position as costume assistant at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in the 2019|20 season, she moved to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. She maintains an ongoing collaboration with director Bassam Ghazi, with whom she worked not only on VATERMAL at Schauspiel Köln but also on the Stadt:Kollektiv productions „Working Class“, „Solingen 1993“, and „Dschinns“ in Düsseldorf. In Kigali, she designed the costumes for the international theatre and performance project „Un:imaginable/Shared Stories“ by Mashirika Performing Arts and Media Company and the Sarajevski Ratni Teatar.
