Leonie Böhm (born 1982 in Stuttgart) has an interdisciplinary background with degrees in three fields. She first studied art and German with the aim of becoming a secondary school teacher and completed a training in art education with Carmen Mörsch and Ulrich Schötker at documenta 7. She graduated in fine arts in 2011 from the Kunsthochschule Kassel as a master student of Urs Lüthi. That same year, she began studying directing at the Theatre Academy of the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. Her student productions “Bittere Tränen” and “Kasimir und Karoline” were invited to numerous guest performances. Today, she works as a director, performer, and visual artist. One of her first productions, “Nathan der Weise”, was invited to the renowned Munich festival for emerging artists, Radikal jung. She now works regularly at major theatres including the Münchner Kammerspiele, Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zürich, and the Maxim Gorki Theater.
