For Benjamin Höppner, theatre is never simply Much Ado About Nothing. It’s about Mother Courage, The Just, Enemies of the People and sometimes just Tales from the Vienna Woods. But most of all, theatre is for everyone. Benjamin Höppner was born in Harare (Zimbabwe) and grew up in Brussels and Hamburg. He has belonged to ensembles in Hanover and Dresden, and also performed as a guest at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Schauspiel Frankfurt and Theater Freiburg. He has been seen in a variety of film and TV roles and founded the music comedy trio NORDKVARK, which won the 2010 Prix Pantheon. What does he think should be performed much more often? Classics.
