The Center will not hold

Michelle Dorrance, a pioneer of modern tap dance, has raised the art form to a new level. She combines a range of dance styles and enters a creative dialogue here with the New York breakdancer Ephrat Asherie. Their duet evolves into a powerful ensemble performance combining body percussion, house and footwork. THE CENTER WILL NOT HOLD raises themes of isolation, community and solidarity. It asks the question of whether humanity is capable of lasting or whether everything is going to fall apart and descend into chaos.
