Dirk-Bach-Platz Einweihung

After years behind construction fences, the square between the Schauspielhaus and the Opera is opening up – and now officially bears the name of Dirk Bach. On 1 October, the anniversary of his death, we come together to remember the Cologne-born actor, entertainer and activist, who made his debut at Schauspiel Köln in 1978 and joined the ensemble in 1992. Georg Uecker hosts the evening and shares memories, Ralph Morgenstern speaks about his friend and colleague, Dada Stievermann reads from “Dear Dicki”, and Jonathan Briefs tells the long story behind the naming of the square. Music comes from the Bordkapelle of the Stattgarde Colonia Ahoj, and special guests are expected.
