Twelve Ton Roses / CRWDSPCR

In collaboration with the Museum Ludwig and its exhibition “Five Friends” – John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly – we take a broader look at this network of artists and present works by two choreographers who were closely allied with the visual artists of their age: CRWDSPCR by Merce Cunningham (world premiere 1993) explores how computer technology and its abbreviations have changed and condensed language. TWELVE TON ROSES by Trisha Brown (world premiere 1996) examines the musical structures within the twelve-tone compositions of Anton Weber.
