Sigi Colpe grew up in Cologne and now lives in Hamburg. Since 2003, she has been working as a freelance set and costume designer. Collaborations with directors such as Stephan Kimmig, András Dömötör, Daniela Löffner, Alessandro Schiattarella, H.W. Kroesinger, Jonathan Heidorn, among others, as well as in music theatre with Tatjana Gürbaca, have taken her to numerous theatres across the German-speaking world. From 2015 to 2019, she taught set and costume design as well as semiotics at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg in the Bachelor’s program for Acting Directing and the Master’s program in Dramaturgy. In the 2024|25 season, she is collaborating with director Stephan Kimmig on the productions “King Lear” at Schauspielhaus Hannover, on Yasmina Reza’s “James Brown Wore Curlers” at Bühnen Bern, and on “Die Verlorenen” by Ewald Palmetshofer at Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe. Her work with Stephan Kimmig on LIEBES ARSCHLOCH by Virginie Despentes now brings her back to Schauspiel Köln.
