Ingo Günther (b. 1965 in Bremen) is a composer and musician. He studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice at the University of Hildesheim and earned a diploma in pop music from the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. Günther works primarily in theatre but also in film throughout the German-speaking world. He has collaborated with directors such as Jarg Pataki, Sebastian Baumgarten, Barbara Weber, Claudia Bauer, Anita Vulesica, and Armin Petras at renowned theatres across the region. He has worked closely with Herbert Fritsch for many years. In addition to various short films in the “hamlet_X” series and the feature film “Elf Onkel”, his collaborations with Fritsch have included theatre productions such as “Murmel Murmel”, “Ohne Titel Nr. 1”, “der die mann”, and “Pfusch” at the Volksbühne Berlin; “Der eingebildete Kranke” at the Burgtheater Vienna; “Schule der Frauen” at Schauspielhaus Hamburg; as well as “Zeppelin” and “Null” at the Schaubühne Berlin. In these productions, Günther has worked as composer, musician, actor, and conductor. He lives in Berlin.
