Marleen Johow studied set and costume design from 2018 until her graduation in 2024 under the supervision of Katrin Brack at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. In 2023, she was a recipient of a scholarship from the Brigitte and Ekkehard Grübler Foundation. Prior to this, from 2015 to 2018, she completed training as an interior decorator at the Münchner Kammerspiele, successfully passing her journeyman’s examination. Already during her studies, she began working freelance as an artist. She designs and creates spaces and costumes for film, theatre, photography productions, and exhibitions. Her work has been presented at venues including Münchner Kammerspiele, Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Osnabrück, Theater Münster, Theater Mainz, and bat-Studiotheater.
