Julia Misiorny, born and raised in Hamburg, studied fashion design in Berlin and initially worked on music videos and small stage performances. After founding a cultural café in Cologne, she found her way into theatre, interning at Bühnen Köln in 2019. From 2020 to 2022, she worked there as a costume assistant and designer, collaborating with artists such as Teresa Vergho, Adriana Braga Peretzki, and Christoph Cremer. She created original designs for the Oldschool Ensemble, Spielclub Polylux, Import Export Collective, and various dance productions in the independent scene with Gustavo Gomez and Bianca Mendonca. Since summer 2022, she has worked freelance as a costume designer and is furthering her education in arts and cultural mediation. She prefers installative and participatory works that blur the boundaries between costume, stage, body, and space.
