Fiete Wachholtz studied jazz and pop drums at HvdK ArtEZ in Arnhem and at HMT Leipzig, followed by directing for music theatre and drama at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich. He now works as a stage musician, sound designer, and composer at numerous theatres. His musical work explores the relationship between spatial sound design and the transformation of real-world sounds into a cohesive musical concept. As a director, he is interested in the intersections of different media and art forms. His first directing projects included “Dekalog I” (2015) and a comic adaptation based on Alan Moore (2017), in which he combined composition and direction for the first time. He deepened this connection in “ANGST/MASCHINE,” a dance project premiered at the Theaterakademie in 2017. As a musician and composer, he has collaborated with directors such as Franziska Angerer, Bettina Bruinier, Laura Linnenbaum, Julia Prechsl, and Kay Voges.
