“I have never in my life been on my way anywhere, but simply on my way.” Anke Zillich keeps this quotation from Samuel Beckett hanging in the hallway at home. Born in Essen, she initially studied German Literature, Philosophy, Psychology and Indology before training as an actor at HMDK Stuttgart. She has been an ensemble member of theatres in Stuttgart, Bonn, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Dortmund and the Volkstheater in Vienna. She has worked with Rainald Grebe, Stephan Kimmig, Christoph Marthaler, Kay Voges, Lisa Nielebock, Luc Perceval, Hermann Schmidt-Rahmer, Heide Rohweder and others. In 2022 she was nominated for the Nestroy Prize as Best Supporting Actress. Why should we see more theatre? Because it keeps your mind young, offers regularly irritants and encourages critical thinking.
