Melanie Lane is an Australian choreographer that works across contemporary dance, visual arts, theatre and music.Alongside commissions with Sydney Dance Company, Chunky Move and HAU Berlin among others, her independent works are presented in Australia and internationally. Her choreographic work for theatre and opera includes “Salome” at English National Opera, “Die Troerinnen” at Burgtheater and “Nosferatu” directed by Adena Jacobs. She is a recipient of the Keir Choreographic Award and the Leipziger Bewegungskunstpreis, and has been Choreographer in Residence at Chunky Move and Resident Artist at The Substation. Melanie leads the Melbourne based initiative Corps Conspirators, a project exploring collaborative choreographic practices, multi-artform experimentation and transcultural experience.
