Sabrina Zwach studied Cultural Studies in Hildesheim and initially worked as a dramaturge and director in the independent theatre scene, for which she received the German Literature-Theatre Prize in 1994. She curated programs for events including “Weimar 1999 – Kulturstadt Europas” and the festival Politics in Free Theatre in Berlin in 2005. From 2006, she collaborated with hamlet_X and Herbert Fritsch, writing adaptations and translations for his productions. She served as dramaturge for the Zurich Theater Spektakel and the “Kurt Krömer Show” (rbb), and from 2008 to 2011 worked at the Volksbühne under Frank Castorf. Zwach has worked with directors such as Mateja Koležnik, Simon Stone, and Anne Lenk, and held dramaturgy roles at the Berliner Ensemble and in the artistic management of the Burgtheater Vienna. Currently, she works as a freelance author and dramaturge. From 2027|28, she will be chief dramaturge at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
