Uwe Rohbeck, born in Wismar, loves stories – those that move, shake up, and spark the imagination. After studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rostock, he performed in Dresden, Salzburg, Heilbronn, and Münster, and was a permanent ensemble member at the Staatstheater Kassel and Schauspiel Dortmund.He has worked with Ersan Mondtag, Claudia Bauer, Kay Voges, and Jörg Buttgereit, among others. His love of music also shapes his productions – as Head Director in Wilhelmshaven, he brought not only plays but also operas to the stage. In 2011, he received the Dortmund Audience Award. He doesn’t want to reveal too much, because actors should also have small secrets for the audience to discover.
