CORRECTIV and Schauspiel Köln are entering into a five-year cooperation to jointly develop a new form of research-based theatre – as a response to the crisis of journalism. In the fast-paced digital news stream, complex connections are often lost, and investigative revelations reach only small circles. Theatre, however, offers a unique counterpoint: it creates undivided attention, shared understanding, and committed engagement. Abstract subjects such as financial flows or corporate networks become tangible and experiential on stage, while the audience becomes part of a collective process of discovery. The project positions itself as a laboratory that brings together investigative research and artistic means on stage. In the 2025|26 season alone, five productions are dedicated to this thematic focus.
