Mona Ulrich works as a freelance costume designer for opera and theatre in German-speaking countries and in Norway. Her costume designs have appeared at venues including the Nationaltheater Oslo, Volkstheater Wien, Schauspiel and Oper Frankfurt, Schauspiel and Staatsoper Stuttgart, Schauspiel and Oper Dortmund, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Berliner Ensemble, Volksbühne Berlin, and the Burgtheater in Vienna. She has collaborated with directors such as Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Ed. Hauswirth, Georg Dittrich, and Laura Linnenbaum. She has also maintained a long-standing collaboration with Kay Voges. Together with Michael Sieberock-Serafimowitsch, Mona Ulrich was nominated in 2017 for the German theatre award Der Faust for the set design of the production “Die Borderline Prozession” (directed by Kay Voges). Beginning with the 2020|21 season, she served for five years as head costume designer at the Volkstheater Wien. In the 2025|26 season, her costume designs will be featured for the first time in several productions at Schauspiel Köln.
