Geheimplan gegen Deutschland - Ein Nachspiel
On the occasion of recent events, we are presenting, in cooperation with CORRECTIV, an extraordinary performance before the official season opening – both on stage and online. The production takes CORRECTIV’s January 2024 exposé “Geheimplan gegen Deutschland” about the clandestine meeting of far-right actors in Potsdam as its starting point, to reflect on its political, social, and media repercussions. At its core are pressing questions: How can one translate “remigration,” the coded term of völkisch ideology? What was actually on the agenda in Potsdam? Was it truly about plans for the mass expulsion of people from Germany – including citizens with migrant backgrounds? The premiere marks the beginning of a cooperation between Schauspiel Köln and CORRECTIV, set to last at least five years. Under the title THEATER UND JOURNALISMUS, investigative reporting will be brought to the stage, celebrating both artistic and media freedom. In the 2025|26 season alone, five productions will be dedicated to this focus.

Plötzlich wird Theater zum Enthüllungsorgan und Beweismultiplikator.
Genau diese Verbindung aus Journalismus und Theater, gepaart mit einer persönlichen Haltung, macht das Projekt so spannend.
Das Schaudern, das einen beim Zuschauen ergreift, ist wahrlich nicht wohlig.
Die Komplexität des Stoffes, die Deutung von Begriffen, die Hintergründe – das war eine riesige Recherche, die hier in theatraler Form ausgebreitet wurde.
