A BOOK FOR THE CITY

Nava Ebrahimi's SIXTEEN WORDS (btb) is the "Book for the City" 2022! When her Iranian grandmother dies, Mona flies with her mother to Iran, to her distant homeland, to the relatives who have become strangers to her. The flight back to her life in Cologne being between coworking and the club scene, is already booked. But then her stay turns into a road trip and a search for traces. Nava Ebrahimi talks to Anne Burgmer about how words turn into stories and stories into identity.
