Based on African rhythm cultures, Richard Siegal developed the duet titled »Made Two Walking«. The dancers Margarida Neto and Nicolás Martínez from the Ballet of Difference at Schauspiel Köln not only move to the music of percussionist Njamy Sitson, but also create sounds themselves with their bodies. The overlapping patterns of movement and sounds result in a polyrhythmic interplay as a reflection on unity and diversity, community and difference. The non-verbal communication created in this way does not remain only between the dancers on stage. Rather, a resonant space is created that also spills over into the bodies of the audience, creating community in a groove.
