Tini inherits a machine from her great-uncle, an inventor: the magical Phantafabulieromat. With it, characters from fairy tales can be conjured up and stories can be told. Brave as she is, Tini starts the program and soon she finds herself in an adventure: she makes the acquaintance of two fairytale characters and is surprised that both are quite different from what they are told to be. So who is spreading the dark stories about them? It is the brother and sister Finsterling, who have become famous through the fairy tales. Tini decides with her new companions to stop the doings of the Finsterlings and take back the power over the stories!
